Residual Pesticides

Mavod makes use of new and state of the art technologies for the quantification and qualification of residual chemical pesticides within the cannabis samples. We also perform multi-residual analysis that meets the FDA standard using both GCMSMS and LCMSMS. This method allows us to screen up to 250 different compounds at a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.01ppm. In total, we offer 66 pesticides which include;

Residual Solvents

During the process of manufacturing cannabis concentrates, chemical solvents are used to extract the active compound. However, residual solvents are sometimes not purged completely and this can result to danger to the health when consumed. At Mavod, we make use of HS-GC-MS-FID for residual solvent analysis which provides dual confirmation; we can test for more than 20 residual solvents including those required by the State of California such as

Cannabinoid & Terpene Profile

Cannabinoids are the sole inducers of the therapeutic effects of the cannabis plant while Terpenes, on the other hand, contributes a lot to the aromatic characteristics of cannabis. Research has shown that terpenes and cannabis interact to produce a medicinal property and contribute to the overall effect of the Cannabis plant.
At Mavob, we quantify 11 Cannabinoid and 20 terpenes to help our clients have a better understanding on the potential effect the product may have; this makes it easy for cultivators and manufacturers to optimize their harvest.

Microbial Contamination

Cannabis microbial testing is very important because while cultivating cannabis, bacteria are likely to contaminate it and pose a severe health hazard. At Mavod, our microbiological testing involves using a specific molecular probe to determine the presence of fungus and bacteria in the cannabis and an aerobic plate count to show how many bacteria’s are on a sample.

Water Activity and Moisture Content

At Mavod, water activity is measured using water activity meter in order to know the available water that helps in promoting the growth of mold, fungus, and bacteria. In addition our moisture correction is used to normalize cannabinoid concentrations.


Mycotoxin is the by-products of Aspergillus which are harmful to humans. At Mavod, we analyze mycotoxins using our new state of art technology to ensure accuracy. Some of these Mycotoxin includes

Foreign Materials

In the last few years, there has been an increased concern over the effect of foreign materials on human due to the consumption of contaminated cannabis. Most cannabis plants cultivated outdoor are susceptible to contamination due to hyperaccumulate metals and other elements from the soil and water where they grow
Mavod offers Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, and Mercury testing through the ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) which is capable of detecting metals at sub-ppb trace levels.
